Erin Hunter

Another good one:

ERIN HUNTER
~Stars:  Five
~Author of:  so many books I will just tell the series she's written.  Okay so there's the Warriors series (a series comprised of the series Dawn of the Clans, Warriors, The New Prophesy, Power of Three, Omen of the Stars, Super Editions, graphic novels of the books, some guides, and some e-books), the Seekers series (like the Warriors, comprised of Seekers, Return to the Wild, and graphic novels), and Survivors (same as the others, with the Survivors series and a few add on books too).  There are like six books in each series/sub series so that's a lot of books.  :)
~Notes:  This girl is pretty good!!  Her books are about animals (cats, bears and dogs, respectively) living in our world, not another like the Redwall series.  So, they have like words for us, and the highway, and cars, etc.  Very cool.  I'm working through the Warriors series right now, since it's the first one she wrote.  And my sister read the Seekers series.  So I can give you a good idea of what to expect.
Language:  none.  They're animals, for goodness' sake.  The Warriors' curses are like "mouse dung" and such.  Little made up curses.
Romance:  there is a little.  But again, they're animals.  So, there's love, and "I love you"s, but really it's so cute and adorable between animals so it really doesn't count to me.  But you're you, so I can't really say...but yeah.  She's a really good author and even though the characters are animals the Warriors really keep me on my toes the whole way through the book.  However, I did notice a theme throughout her books similar to that of the Hardy boys series.  I stopped reading the Hardy boys because the same thing happened in all 40+ of them--the brothers come across a mystery, there's maybe a bit of romance, the plot thickens, they get captured, and then their dad comes with the police to bust them out of the tight spots.  Literally.  Every.  Book.  With the Warriors series, virtually the same thing happens every series--there's a prophesy, someone descended from someone important has to fulfill the prophesy, the fulfillers are way overpowered, the clans are in trouble, the cat angels are powerless to help anyone, and there's some sort of Romeo-Juliet love affair.  Sadly, it's pretty predictable.
If you're looking for reliability and a good, mindless read, check her out.
Also, she has a secret which you'll find out if you go to her website and look for her biography page.  Very cool.
