~Author of:  the Adventurers Wanted series (Slathbog's Gold, The Horn of Moran, Albrek's Tomb, The Sands of Neza, The Axe of Sundering).
~Notes:  Okay, M. L. Forman is pretty good writer (his books are awesome) but in my opinion, he could use a bit of editing in his books.  His story plot, however, is pretty decent.  My problem with these books is that he had a good idea and created a developed world, but plopped a not-very-developed main character into the middle of it all.  Alex, the MC, is 15 in the first book and grows up over the next few.  He gets to be about 17 or 18 in the latest one, I believe.  First of all, he adjusts too quickly.  The culture is formal and honor-centered, and he gets right used to it without any mess-ups at all.  This theme continues, with him learning insignificant lessons the first time and not making any costly mistakes.  The result is a bland character who seemingly can predict everything and act accordingly, causing him to be uninteresting and slightly flat.  But that's just my personal problem.
    You would think that because he's 17, and exceptionally cool, he'd at least have a girlfriend.   Surprise!  You're wrong.  He doesn't fall in love at all.  In Albrek's Tomb, though, there is this one girl that he saves from the brink of death (I think she may reappear in the later books) who, once she's well, kisses his cheek.  And then rides away into the sunset with him looking dazed behind her.  (Just [kind of] kidding :D)  Other than that, aside from a little (tiny) bit of quiet romance with the characters of his adventuring company (two get married in one of the later books), there is no romance.  It’s so subtle, you could hardly call it romance.  Quite nice.
    As with the books before, no language.  Yay for clean books!
    They're pretty awesome books.  I can't wait for him to finish the series!
