Maryrose Wood

Okay I just remembered another author to review so here goes!
---------
MARYROSE WOOD
~Stars:  Five
~Author of:  The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place series (The Mysterious Howling, The Hidden Gallery, The Unseen Guest, and coming up, The Unmapped Sea).
~Notes:  Okay so another five star author.  Maryrose Wood is a really quaint author.  Her books are set in, um, well I'm bad at history so let's just say it's the age of English governesses and cars are new.  And bicycles are pretty new too.  Actually now that I think about it maybe there isn't any cars.  But anyway.  It's in the English countryside, and the main character, Penelope Lumley, is 17 and just starting out as a governess for three very (coff) strange (coff) children.  There's a great mystery and some fantasy mixed in.  Really good.  I like them because they're full of witty sayings, quaint quips, and random thoughts (I like how that sounded ;D).
Language: there is no serious language.  However, this is also the age of hunting parties and men who smoke and stay at clubs most of the time, so there is the occasional blast/blasted said by the master of the house and his friends.
Romance: a little romance.  Penelope meets a "perfectly nice young man named Simon" in the second book, and they stumble through a relationship.  Penelope, being raised in a girls school where there was a noticeable lack of boys, is very inexperienced in the art of love.  She thinks about him sometimes, but never notices how much she actually likes him.  Simon I think has an idea but maybe denies it.  It's cute and innocent romance, and it doesn't play a key role in the storyline.

Well, there you have it folks.  Once again, any ideas on who I should review next?  Comment your thoughts!
